Insufficient customer research. 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿. That mindset is the road to failure.
Building a business case that is too complex, or none at all. Creating a case that satisfies a corporate controller is impossible in the early stage. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿.

Instead innovators should focus on proper customer research, building simple business cases and 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲.
