⚡ The EU wants to push its own low earth orbit satellite internet system after seeing the pros and cons of Starlink:

Pro: super-fast, reliable, low latency network which reaches even the remotest parts of the earth at close-to-zero cost for further rollout compared to terrestrial internet cables

Con: Starlink is in the hands of an erratic, American entrepreneur who can switch it off anytime - see the Ukraine war.

But the EU wouldn't be the EU if they didn't try to push such a system through governmental processes, seemingly not fully acknowledging the complexity of such an undertaking.

I'm convinced that the capitalistic drive of companies to achieve a monopoly in such a segment is what ultimately makes such an undertaking possible. But we will see.
